A new initiative has been submitted which would require a plebiscite to make California an independent country to be placed on the ballot on March 13, 2019. Signature collection starts in January and if it gets enough signatures the initiative itself will go on the ballot in November 2018.

On the plebiscite, a 55% yes vote would be required for independence.

Good luck with that, California could not exist on its own. What happens when the water gets turned off?
