I've seen a bunch of people, especially Americans, freak out about communism, facism, socialism and stuff like that. Even to the point of having wars. For example, America went to war with Vietnam and Korea because of communism. True, Vietnam and North Korea are not doing as good as America today (especially NK), but what did America gain from it?

People seem to forget democracies can be corrupt too, like Eritrea and India.

With communism, people say, "Some work so hard while others do the bare minimum, yet they get the same pay. How is that fair?"

With capitalism, you can easily say, "Some work so hard for little pay and others do the bare minimum and get so rich. How is that fair?"

Then there are some countries that say they use one type of economy/government but actually use something that's not really one or the other.

If something works for a country, does it really matter what they're using?

if America had not stuck its nose where it did not belong, chances are good that we would not be having the whole Muslim world so damned mad at us these days. just sayin'. and in the spirit of "all politics is local," I must say the GOP has only crapped on me and mine ever since I could remember, while the democrats at least throw me a useful crumb now and then and have not with malice aforethought done their best to make my life harder than it would be were I a Canadian or European. so in this respect parties matter big time.

it is my understanding that, historically, the US has not gone to war over communist or fascist nations merely because of their fascism or communism, but rather to prevent the spread of the ideology which would have threatened whatever interests the US may had in those areas.

america went to war in vietnam in part because it believed in the "domino theory", that said if the south fell to the communist north, the rest of indochina and south asia would follow. which did not (completely) happen.
