(clicky)pope warns rising populism could produce new hitler
these are scary times.

ROME — Pope Francis has warned against growing populism in Europe, saying such movements could result in the election leaders of like Germany's Adolf Hitler. "In times of crisis, we lack judgment, and that is a constant reference for me," the pontiff said in an in-depth interview with Spanish newspaper El Pais. "The most obvious example of European populism is Germany in 1933. After the crisis of 1930, Germany is broken, it needs to get up, to find its identity, a leader, someone capable of restoring its character, and there is a young man named Adolf Hitler." "Hitler didn't steal the power, his people voted for him, and then he destroyed his people," the pope added.

What so bad about having another Hitler/FDR/etc ? The banksters have stolen everyone's future.
Another Hitler would be able to remove those treasonous bankers and restore wealth & prosperity to everyone.

The banksters are trying to do to Vladimir Putin what they did to Hitler, frame him as some sort of evil man, then send in a bunch of false-flag modern-day Nazis to carry out acts of atrocities, whilst simultaneously trying to blame it on Putin, just like they did against Hitler for successfully pulling off what FDR was assassinated for (Executive Order 11110).

Putin is like, a man's man, a totally capable and honest and strategic-leader, oh, and CNN is a Fake News; One peculiarity with typical U.S. mentality are all of these «projections» that the Statist-oriented population repeats like some sort of cult-mantra. I mean Projection in the Psychological-Definition of the word of course.

"what's so bad about another hitler?" :o

for starters- I, for one, do not want another world war like the last one of which hitler was a major cause.

the present pope is the pertinent thing, not past popes and their baggage, so much. this present pope is worried and for good history-based reasons. human nature has not changed since the last go-round.

I think a big difference between 1933 and now is, back in 1933, Hitler wasn't being mentioned every second 24/7. Everybody is Hitler, Hitler is everywhere, look out here comes Hitler.

What's wrong with Hitler is that he was a genocidal maniac with the blood of millions on his hands.
And I think it's pretty well understood what "bankers" is code for.

I 2nd on "who gives a damn what the pope says".

He needs to check his privilege. In case he hasn't read the prophesies, he is thought to be the pope who is/or who will be helping the anti-Christ on Jesus' return, so he has no room to talk.

Sometime the one cry wolf is right. In that case it's not only the usual of peoples who don't know what they talking about that throw the Hitler accusation, but also those who know what they talking about that generally don't throw such accusation.
What would it take for you to admit that someone is a fascist and could be a new Hitler? It's naive to think it can't happen and that any such accusation is wrong; mankind wasn't changed and even with all the effort made in education is still as stupid as ever. (Case in point: reality TV) So what would it take? If you can't answer that then you have no business to call "hysterical" peoples throwing such accusation, particularly if they are educated, intelligent and had lived under fascism, like the current pope.

So the second response this topic gets is basically "Oh Hitler wasn't so bad." I would like to think it could only go up from here but from they way things have been lately I'm just not so convinced.

And about 1933 Germany. No one knew Hitler was going to try and exterminate the Jews yet. He didn't just start by saying "Kill the Jews." No he took power gradually by exploiting peoples' fear of "the other." Back then it was the Jews, Gypsies and Gays, Now it's Muslims, Mexicans and Transsexuals. He got people to believe these groups were the enemies and Trump and the Republicans are trying to do it now. So when people are comparing our our country to Nazi Germany they are generally talking about Germany in the early to mid 1930's not 1941 when the genocide was well in progress.

Just look at how well Trump matches the fourteen points of fascism.

I don't know if that all applies to Trump just yet, but that doesn't mean he won't try.

I can't find a single point in that 14 point list that Trump or his people don't match.
