Of course since YouTube tracks me, I get a lot of autism videos recommended.
When this one popped up my first thought was, "gotta share this with WP".
The only thing I ever noticed about the kid is he's freaking tall for a 10 year old.

So with Alex's "This is the most important election of my life because I'm autistic" thread and the many posts saying Trump being POTUS is a bad thing for autistic people, and understandably so, what if his beloved youngest child is autistic? How would that effect things. Better? Worse? Not at all?

"My son is so good with computers, he's ten years old."

Yeah it could well be the case.

But really let's not over-scrutinize it would honestly be better if we didn't. Barron Trump honestly just looks uncomfortable in most of these shots. Which is understanable since he is the son of the President-Elect.

I really hate the diagnosing of other people in the media. He could just be anxious because he is in the spot light and some kids are just very smart or introverted. But making fun of a child just because you don't like their father, not cool.

I think it's silly and impossible to diagnose someone with such anecdotal evidence. Especially by non-experts.

What I'm thinking about more is the 'what if' factor. Probably I should have posted this in PPR.

Their is a problem with people like us entertaining these rumours. You see it could led to a ten year old boy being labelled as strange and abnormal in the media. Not a pleasant experience to go through and could lead to some humilation.

I think a lot more 10 year old are probably good with computers compared to 20 years ago. Does that mean more children are autistic? I doubt it.

Regardless of autism or no, I feel for the little guy. He's TEN and being publicly torn to pieces.

I see a young boy who looks very, very uncomfortable. He seems everything from just plain bored to actually kind of frightened.

The night Trump won and the family filed onstage, I couldn't take my eyes of Barron just because the one thought I kept thinking was he looks terrified. I attributed it maybe he is completely aware of the divisiveness and all a tenyear old boy is thinking is "Is someone going to assassinate my dad now?"

I feel sorry for him, he just looks like a boy who isn't very happy in these specific situations. I have no idea what he might actually be like away from them.

For what it's worth, from a non expert, there are children with autism who outwardly have the mannerisms he displays, so that's "interesting" but of course nobody can know just by clips of public appearances. I'm sorry for the lad though; this is a lot to handle (public nastiness).

And yeah he's tall -- I can't believe he's just ten!

I don't see what is the problem, with dressing up nicely, and sitting quietly at a social function. You elected the father.

I actually thought he looked autistic, but my husband says I see autism everywhere so I decided he was probably just really tired. I suppose he could have been frightened, too. There was certainly something "off" about him - enough that I couldn't concentrate on what Trump was saying because I was too busy staring at his kid.

Or that fact that it was late at night, he's in front of a big audience (even bigger world wide) or just shy.

Trying to diagnose someone else is a thing that I believe others shouldn't do unless you are a medical professional.

I feel sorry for the kid. If I were at that age and I saw all these comments out there saying I am autistic, that would just increase my anxiety about being different and confirm how different I look to everyone and how everyone can just tell I am different and this would have been proof. I hope the kid doesn't see this but since he does computers, he probably will if he googles his own dad's name and his. Kids at that age are very self conscious about themselves so they will be very sensitive to comments like this.

There was a time when the children of U.S. presidents were off limits. But, this might just help the idea of autism among Trump's supporters. YouTube.com has some videos which examine and discuss the possibility of Barron Trump being autistic. It seems plausible to me, though I amn't convinced just yet. If he is, in fact, autistic, he will be watched by many Americans for the next four years and two months ... or more. By the time he is a teen-ager, it will probably become more apparent, if true, and could develop into the right kind of disclosure if all other options are seen as a kind of denial.

I don't think anyone here is under the impression that anyone else is a professional making an official diagnosis.

I also couldn't take my eyes off Barron Trump at the victory speech. I couldn't read him.

As for being tall, Melania Trump is nearly 6 feet tall and Donald is over that, so the building blocks are certainly there for him to be tall.

I'm not sure if people should be analysing him like this, but that speech was the first time I saw him and I couldn't stop looking at him, so I can't say I blame people for wondering.
