Correct me if I'm wrong, but as I understand it the only way "the Russians" supposedly influenced the outcome of the election was to release emails (through Wikileaks) that were embarrassing for Hillary Clinton, expose the way she (and others with her within the Democratic Party) stabbed Bernie in the back, and drew attention to the fact that if she were to become the president she would start a war with Russia.

So, if all of this nonsense about "Russia hacking the election" turned out to be true, we would be in their debt, because they helped us to avert a catastrophe.
