I will say that since vastly reducing my meat intake, I haven't had any more gout.

I never had gout, so I'm not reducing my meat intake.

There are three main body types, ectomorphs[skinny], endomorphs[average] and mesomorphs[bulky]. It is an interesting hypothesis that some people are naturally fat (and there are medical conditions that lead to abnormal metabolisms, example 'hyper/hypo-thyroidism'), but the idea is not correct. If you are overweight passed the point of your body type, it is because you have a disease, pure and simple. There is no perfect indicator of when you are perfect, but don't count the carbs, just eat as much as you want and get excercise, you will feel great.

On meat. It is a mixed bag. I am not against survival, I am for rationality. Nature is red in both tooth and claw because protein is very important, but we do get waaaay too much of it.

Although I am against margarine, vegetable-shortening and fake cheese products, I would say that the eating of fats promotes a leaner, physical state, called ketosis.

There was a protein diet model (and mother), in bikinis or exercise clothes, whose posters were vandalized and resulted in b-mb threats, by fat-acceptance extremists. She would have been in ketosis.

I am genetically-closer to a savage, to the best of my understanding. That's me. I resemble that remark.

But, there are diet plans geared toward different metabolic types, some of which are sedentary, by nature.

If what I am eating disagrees with you, there may be a good, metabolic reason.

As I learn about animistic philosophies, from different parts of the world, (don't call me a xenophobe) noone ever says to be sadistic or wasteful, but they do say that nature avails itself, willingly. Seekers report that natural resources can be laid at their feet, and are received, gratefully.

I haven't responded lately but I would like to cover some things.

1. I am not vegan
2. I'm not addicted to any sort of food

My thread isn't about veganism.

Veganism would have been relevant, if the poster thinks that carnivorism makes you fat.

My feeling is that meat-eating is a more-efficient way of getting calories. I actually like vegetably, natural things, to eat -- lots and lots of them. But, my intake is so high, that I would have to be grazing, all day. I forage, and grow things, and eat them, outside. I would consider it conceivable, to have eating habits, along the lines of a bear, at my size.

If I responded well, to gluten, I should be grateful for the convenience, of having so many things, provided for me, by civilization. I don't think we consider sedentary life to be such a blessing, when our ancestors and feral cousins might not have lived to middle age. It is probably better, to be fat than to be gaunt.

I think being openly rude to anyone for something that does not harm other people is very rude itself, so I consider being rude to overweight people because they are overweight as something very unacceptable.

However, I think it is acceptable to choose partners, friends, employees (unless it is a government agency) based on weight and appearances. I believe in free markets, thus free romantic markets, free friendship markets, and free employment markets. Everyone subsciously takes weight and appearances into account when they make their social decisions, but it is obviously stupid to only choose partners/friends/employees based on weight and appearances. However, I believe the individual has the right to do so if they wish (and they shall suffer the long term consequences for doing so consistently).

I think the only thing that should not consider these attributes at all are laws and governments (which receive the tax payers' money regardless of their weight and appearances). Everyone else is free to make their own decisions regardless of their reasons unless they actively try to harm someone else.

parents may give their overweight children a hard time, if they are projecting their own feelings of embarrassment at them, embarrassment of having a fat kid, and being mortified at the prospect of being called a bad parent...feeling that they have failed. somehow.

of course, this is certainly not the fault of the kid, and it is very hurtful to both parties when an elder places the blame of their own bad predicament on the kid (ie, "if you weren't fat, i'd be much happier")

BS, you are the one who is making yourself unhappy, failing to take responsibility for your own state of mind

it is very unfortunate. in many families with overweight kids, not only to they have to bear the weight of their own adipose tissue, but the weight of their relatives' suffering as well...

If your kid is fat, you're a bad parent. You decide what your child eats, not them. How often do you see a fat child with a slim parent?

I was fat. My mom wasn't.

I ate junk because I was depressed, not because of "bad parenting."
