Hahahaha

Epic fail for the American people. Its author made it "too big to fail" ie made too many dependent on it. Because the Republican plan would have been worse does not in any way make the Obamacare law good. It makes Obamacare yet another lesser of two evils. Today means barring some miracle that the years and years that the Republican party spent on trying to repeal it at the expense of other issues was a complete and utter waste. Obamacare now is TrumpRyancare and they are going to pay the price.

Prediction: TrumpRyancare completes the collapse that started under Obama followed by a chaotic return to BigInsurenceCare.

We HAVE to come up with something better.

Someday I hope the US can join the rest of the industrialized world and adopt a health care plan that includes everyone.

...ah that's a relief, I guess now I don't have to worry about my medicaid coverage for now.

Obamacare certainly is not as ideal as say Universal Healthcare, but it sure does beat the trump administrations non-plan they wanted to put into place.

But, under that bill, your Medicaid wouldn't have been affected. You would have been "grandfathered."

I'm having a hard time understanding this. Do we still get health care?

The sensible thing to do would be implement universal catastrophic coverage ($5000 and up) already and let people choose market-driven plans to cover lesser costs.

Of course, a sensible bill will never pass through Congress. Especially the current one.

Well what about younger people in my position? Also I heard they had planned cuts to Medicaid in general with their plan. So it was a bit concerning.

I'm very disappointed for my aunt and all the other common laborers in her situation, who can't afford their employer provided ACA and don't qualify for any subsides, because their employer offers them an unaffordable "affordable" health insurance plan.

Her employer used to offer a practically free health insurance plan as an employee benefits package - before Obamacare.



She liked her doctor and really liked her health plan... that was taken away from her

This part of your post I agree with ... the Republicans apparently weren't serious about repealing Obamacare. This is now out in the open.

I'm not a fan of Obamacare.
I also did not like parts of what I was hearing about the "repeal and replace bill."
Would passing the bill have been better than Obamacare?

It is not Obamacare now. While we all know who wrote it and forced it down a American public that largely did not want it but Republicans control the executive and legislative branches of government, it is all on them now. Calling it Obamacare now is the excuse making they so often deride. Say what you want about the Affordable Care Act it was passed with exactly zero support from the opposition party the same situation the Republicans are whining about now.

My guess is that TrumpRyancare will not "explode", it will slowly slide into into anarchy, then as I stated earlier a chaotic transition in Freemarket/BigInsurence care which why I suspect the FreedomCaucus/Tea Party choose to blow the Ryan plan up rather than compromise and get a part of what they wanted.
