The oldest person in the world is now Violet Brown of Jamaica (born 1900). She is believed to be the last living subject of Queen Victoria (Jamaica was a British colony at the time). Her son, 97-year-old Harold Fairweather, is believed to be the oldest person in the world with a living parent.
