Chilling effect on the right to protest

This is common for Trump, and I think it has a chilling effect on the 1st amendment. Whenever there is any protest that is not favorable to him, he always "hints" that it is some nefarious conspiracy against him, rather than being a legitimate concern by citizens:

This is the kind of rhetoric that can erode democracy.

Part of my skepticism comes from the fact that they have never offered any pro-active solutions, so much as using the fame of other people, to attract attention.

If I seriously wanted to annoy a pompous person, I might treat him as though he doesn't exist.
