North American Aerospace Defense Command monitors air approaches to North America and defends the airspace.

Fox News said Tuesday the Russian planes flew within 100 miles of Alaska’s Kodiak Island.

It said the American jets escorted the Russian bombers for 12 minutes. The bombers then flew back to eastern Russia.

In 2014, two F-22 fighter jets were scrambled after a pair of Russian bombers were spotted 50 miles off the coast of California.

As the article says: last year Russian bombers got as far south (and east) as 50 miles off the California coast. This was only just off of Alaska.

The air force equivalent of sending a battleship to "show the flag" the Russians have been sending TU95's (their equivalent of our B52) into US airspace to send a message. Not sure what the message is exactly, but its to send a message.

Maybe Putin wants Alaska back! Lol!

During the cold war, this happened all the time. It's nothing new at all, and really nothing to be alarmed about.

While you can't directly verify it, to be true, it still begs a question.

How can Russia be threatening us, according to the official narrative, and also on a diplomatic, peacetime footing, according to the official narrative. Every option is on the table, they are cooperative, and they are dangerous.

Why should they talk to us, about Russia, if they can't keep their story straight, or don't want us to know about Russia.
