Bose Spying On Customers? Lawsuit Says So

Quote:
Indeed, one’s personal audio selections — including music, radio broadcast, Podcast, and lecture choices — provide an incredible amount of insight into his or her personality, behavior, political views, and personal identity,” the lawsuit said. “In fact, numerous scientific studies show that musical preferences reflect explicit characteristics such as age, personality, and values, and can likely even be used to identify people with autism spectrum conditions

Bolding mine
You can determine if somebody is autistic by thier audio selections. Does that mean we do not need tests like ADOS and clinical observation anymore to diagnose ASD's? (Sarcasm)

Didnt read the whole thing, but yeah...thats both fascinating, and frightening.

If the NSA can spy on you through your own TV set then why couldnt an upscale speaker manufacturer spy on you through your own sound system?

Even if the plaintiffs are wrong and Bose isnt doing it- its easy to imagine that some audio company will start doing such spying soon (had to imagine it NOT happening). Big Brother is everywhere in this brave new world.

The "internet of things" can easily become "the internet of people exploiting things to spy on other people".

And...yeah...maybe they should just ditch all of the expensive testing by specialists. Just have someone look at your I-pod playlist to give you the official aspie/autistic diagnosis! Lol!

So..what kinda music mix do ASD folks like, and how does it differ from a NT music mix? I wonder.

Do you believe that the music thread was intended as an experiment?
