http://globalnews.ca/news/7140157/kanye ... president/

Apparently Elon Musk supports him.

But according to comments in this article it’s nothing but a ruse to try to get black votes away from Biden to help trump win:

No matter what way you slice it, 2020 just got weirder.

How does that work? I thought the final election is a two horse race?

Independents are also allowed to run and apparently it’s not passed the deadline for someone else to throw their name in the hat.

What GF said. The US always has a Candidate from the Libertarian Party, and one from the Green Party, and a few others,on the ballot that get like one percent of the vote. And we sometimes have rather major- minor "third party" candidates like Ross Perot, or George Wallace who get double digit vote percentages (enough to be accused of being "spoilers"). Ross Perot got to debate with the Dem and the GOP candidate on national TV.

But Kanye is not affiliated with any party. Not sure how his candidacy would work this far into the year. I suppose that he could just start his own party.

It would not be good to split the anti-Trump vote. The Libertarians and Greens always field candidates yes, but if KW took significant votes away from Biden then he might narrowly lose states vital to his chances of winning.

This is the major concern.

Maybe he’ll have another mental health episode before November and not be considered a serious candidate?

He won’t take many votes from Biden. I’m not worried about him.

He certainly won’t take away enough votes to make Biden lose a state which he would have won without him.

Winning states via votes is infinitely more important than merely winning votes; otherwise, Hillary would be our President.

Hmm... from my analysis of US contemporary politics, it wouldn't surprise me if Kanye West won.
No, I'm serious.
A lot of Trump voters are feeling disillusioned and looking for an alternative icon. And with black/Latino votes too ...?

It would be like one of the Kardashians running for President.

I mean, Reagan was a well known actor before becoming president. Schwartzenegger was all the things he was before he became Governor of California. And considereing the history of the current president, I don't see why a successful rapper couldn't run and win.

Embrace the Clown world!

If Trump can be elected, then ...a tree stump with a happy face carved into it...could win the presidency. :D

So yeah...If KW were to launch into a serious campaign, and were to spout similar crowd pleasing nonsense to Trump then who knows?

Kanye West lacks charisma. He is an obvious tool.
