And reports can be found about the left, Democrats, wanting to and/or trying to silence news outlets opposed to them.
To me, this quote from an editorial is applicable either way:
Original,
Quote:
And where does their crusade leave us? The left no longer wants to even try to win the debate; instead they want to silence their opponents. The establishment left’s fear of speech should be troubling to all.

It is an ideological war and one way to win at war is to disrupt your enemy's, or enemies' if you have several, communications.
Opposition news outlets are enemy communications.
And then something from the quote and mirror image quote catches my attention - both are 'establishment'.
Is there a common denominator connecting both the left and the right establishments?
Do both fear the non-establishment?
Could the right and the left, the Democrats and the Republicans, in fact fear the non-establishment more than they fear each other?
And silencing the non-establishment is what this is ultimately and actually about?
