Special needs student left out of high school yearbook

Jeannine says the yearbook is put together by students and checked by faculty.

I think she wanted to make schooling about her success over autism.

Putting the diagnosis aside --

That's 30ish, and in extreme cases, 100 dollars.

The story made me feel bad, because she clearly had hope in the institution.

But, they scapegoat completely-ordinary people, too, with reasonable manners, grades, and reputations.

Your school spirit doesn't formally qualify you for anything, particularly, if you read or do anything intelligent, on your own time. If you're like me, you had plenty, during classes.

I am actually in favor of withdrawal from this system.

So did they also leave out her high school photo too? Was she in choir or drama or any school sports and didn't they take a group photo of them like they always do for sports and choir and drama? If so did they like cut the photo of her out and left a hole in the picture? That would make it too obvious it was intentional.

This passive aggressive BS is something "weird" kids have to deal with. They always make it look like an accident or something random and adults fall for it while the victim full well knows it's deliberate because if it happens all the time, it can't be a coincidence or just an accident or something random. But yet they can't do anything about it without looking like a snowflake because no one will believe them and kids will just keep denying it, even to their face too.


I remember I wasn't included in the 8th grade photo so I figured I must have been absent that day it was taken. Those things happen. But I was excluded from school activities in middle school because they wouldn't tell me about them. It's not like they sent out flyers or announcements over the speaker or sent out a paper bout it for students to take home like they did in elementary school. But somehow kids still knew about them. I just felt hurt even though I wouldn't participate in them anyway but it still hurt because I felt left out. Maybe they thought I wouldn't do them anyway so no point in telling me but all that did was it made me feel bad.
