#jesuischarlie

This is a non-issue. The outrage over this is just right-wing political correctness.

It is a french magazine, so they are probably not knowledgeable about what people are like here.

Its not just any "French magazine". Its Charlie Hebdo. The satire magazine that was famously targeted by Muslim terrorist retaliating against the magazine's cartoons depicting the Prophet only months ago.

I guess that they are equal opportunity offenders.

It IS rather tasteless of them to use a tragedy like Harvey to giggle at American political factions.

But all of us red blooded Americans applauded the publication for [literally] taking bullets for free speech only months ago when the magazine's HQ was attacked in retaliation for making tasteless fun of the Prophet. So we have no choice but to take it when they make tasteless fun of us too.

Yes.

If it was okay for them to depict Muhammad, then this is also okay.

Maybe when nothing comes of it, noone is murdered because of out, people will realise that the "far right" aren't anything like the threat people are making out, that they're just a scapegoat to draw heat from the real threat to our societies. I won't hold my breath though.

And maybe some right wingers will realize liberals are not enemies of the state...who knows.

Why would right wing people learn anything from this? Especially that?

Wasn't it the left wing who were up in arms about the Islamic cartoons they published? Given the left have a proven recent history of not "getting" satire that's quite a strange claim to make.

Hehe.

So did I, it's only funny pictures. However I distinctly remember the raging left saying they shouldn't be published and when the offices were attacked they pretty much said that it was deserved. That people deserved to die for drawing funny pictures. Yep, that was the left alright.
