Personally, I found what Ms. Price was considering to do for son to be utterly disgusting, shameful, triggering, and abusive. In addition, she's no better than tRump, as she only cares about herself, preferring to let her son to be feral. Where is CPS in a case like this? <sarcasm>Oh, she's a celebrity, so she supposedly gets a pass.</sarcasm>

I don't see any purpose in "hiring a hooker" for anybody.

This would reap the same results as masturbation---except masturbation is free.

And who knows what diseases the hooker might have contracted in the course of her work.

A lose-lose situation, all in all.

I see Americans can be prude about this. In the UK parents of disabled adults can get financial support to get monthly visits to receive so called "sex therapy"

There's this perception young adult men (and women) with disabilities are "asexual" which ignores their own personal biological desires beyond just masturbation

prefer to think it has more to do with a concern for everyone involved’s welfare(even if people aren’t aware of their proactivity), than people being “prudish”. life is precious, and someone who becomes a prostitute is putting themselves recklessly within harm’s way. nobody wants their children to grow up to become prostitutes, so it’s perplexing that many are so cold/judgmental/thrilled when they see another’s has become one.

plenty just write them off for choosing their path, yet nobody knows that choice was chosen among better options, without blackmail, or whilst sober. choice between a most shame inducing and traumatizing life one could imagine, or dying might not be the easiest to make if faced with it... yet, it would be justified a choice by those who wish to blissfully indulge in others’ sufferings with clearest conscience.

Wasn't there a scene kind of like that in The World According To Garp?

Masturbation, to me, is just as much of a release of sexual tension as intercourse.

And I love intercourse, and I've had it at least 1,000 times.

One won't find the requisite intimacy with a prostitute----unless the prostitute falls for one somehow.

Does he want to have sex??

If so, hey, whatever goes between consenting adults.

I have a dear friend (a brother, if only in my heart and mind) who is very probably ASD. Once in a while he visits a whore. Whatever works, bro-- just don't go off on the other hand pretending it didn't happen and waxing moralistic about sexual sin.

My opinion?? Prostitution should be legal. Regulated and all the rest of it, ideally unionized, and completely legal. We're going to do it anyway, so why not put it up on the table in the metaphoric light of day?? THAT would do a lot to stop sex trafficking.

^making it legal here would be a terrible idea. anyone with a mouth would be seen able to work, even if they were disabled.

if sociopathic people will continue to see prostitutes anyway, they’ll eventually find themselves behind bars where they belong.

Ahhh that's right. In America the clients are arrested. Do you have evidence that men who seek prostitutes are sociopaths? my understanding is they are largely mainstream, in many countries the majority of males have seen a prostitute at least once in their lives. But I totally understand the lack of empathy part for the plight of women or men who may not be in control of their personal circumstance in being forced to ply this trade

If regulated and if women (or men) are free to choose and safe then its a contract between consenting adults

I almost went to a hooker once. I even took her to a movie. But I backed out----I realized that she felt no emotional/sexual tie to me, or me to her. I liked her as a person, but felt no attraction towards her.

The sex would have had the same effect as masturbation---but it would have cost me money, and put me at risk for diseases.

I'm not morally against paid sex. I'm morally against human trafficking, though. And abusive pimps. And prostitutes who steal from their clients.

no, however, saying so many see prostitutes casually isn’t convincing that many cultures don’t possess values that imitate the condition. all brought to the table suggests america is safer as it stands. anyway, personal take is that life is inherently precious. people are who they are, and not who they were, and there’s nothing one could do, have been, have taken from them, or have had done to them to change that... in other words, if people seek to sort their lives out, they’ve nothing to be defensive about.

anyway, to clarify, adults consenting to sex isn’t perceived unethical... prostitution is just too much a blurred line here(others bring up ethics, and all of personal concern is safety and wellbeing.). even if it was legal, it wouldn’t change peoples’ dehumanizing disapproval, protect them from diseases, end brutalities, rapes, nor murders... already happens in europe. yes, what you said, in theory, would be a contract between consenting adults like any other... innocent. however, if there was any belief that making prostitution legal would allow those that enjoy or wouldn’t mind casual sex with others to make livings, while not being targeted for hate crimes, while being able to screen/choose clients for their safety without risking lawsuits claiming discrimination(no, don’t support prejudiced practices... but someone’s body is their own, and nobody is entitled to it, nor is it anyone’s place to question another’s reasonings into surrender... that’d be rape.), that anybody who didn’t want to become one wouldn’t be forced, and that it wouldn’t risk diseases, pregnancies, or rape, then it wouldn’t be perceived problematic... that isn’t the american way though. such would create far more problems than it would solve. it’s not as simple here as removing a ban on a substance, because it involves far more laws when the “substance” for sale involves another’s rights as an american... legal loopholes(to be exploited) galore. not to mention, if a victim, a jury of american peers aren’t any more likely to side justly for a legal sex therapist’s rights, than they wouldn’t an illegal prostitute’s.

In Australia we have "containment laws" where prostitution is regulated with restrictions to age, coercion, drug use and mandatory health checks. The use of online advertising has, however, made it almost impossible to fully regulate. However banning the practice only drives it underground. There is a reason it's the oldest profession.

The use of prophylactics will be helpful. Regulated prostitution minimizes the risk of STDs
