Trump being impeached was over reported old news before he even became president. Any day now he will be impeached. Any day now he will resign. Any day now. Keep those fingers crossed.

Given the House is presently about 55% Republican and the Senate is presently about 52% Republican it is unsure how likely an impeachment and then a judgement against would be.

More likely now than inauguration day. One thing has proven true in his short presidency: as time moves forward Trump alienates more Republican members of congress, either by not getting on board with the party line, or by blaming them for his own errors. Trump is used to the business world where 'loyalty' is a one-way street and only applies to underlings, he still hasn't learned that in politics 'loyalty' needs to go both ways or it doesn't exist at all.

I think the problem is the lage extent to which they depicted themselves as sore losers. And now people are supposed to believe they've gotten over it after all that.

The democrats certainly lost, but the Republicans didn't win either, if they'd actually won they'd have legislation out by now. Fact is Trump is toxic to the very same people he needs to vote for his proposals to pass, the northeast moderate Republicans. He has two options, he can either moderate his stance and bring those moderate Republicans into the fold, or he can continue to attack them, stay hard right, and get absolutely nothing done. It's the same structure it's been for 40 years, a single person at top will not change that political reality, and yet Trump keeps banging his head against that door, sure that's the appropriate way to open it, when in actuality all it's doing is giving everyone a headache.

More wishful thinking from people in bubbles.

You are going to need 69 votes in the Senate to convict and remove him. 25 Democrats compared to only 8 Republicans are up for reelection next year so even if the House flips which is far from a sure thing the Senate will probably be more Republican.

While there are many parallels this is not 1974. Nixon never had anything remotely the cult of personality type support among the Republican Base that Trump has. Replacing Nixon was not a was not as much of a radical change in perceived world view Trump to Pence would be. Any and every Republican that votes to impeach or convict Trump will face a primary challenge and possible violence to them and their family. And after what we saw in Virginia I can not be as cynical to that possibility as before.

For over two years I have heard the Trumps words and actions are going to end his political career. I am extremely skeptical of yet another claim in this regard.

There is a train of thought that if Muller really has the goods on him he will resign and claim victory. That is yet another false assumption that Trump will act as a typical person would in that situation. Based on the constant predictions of his demise and his cockiness Trump will believe again he will find a way to survive and utterly destroy his "enemies" when all said and done.

The only ways Trump does not stay in office until 2020 is he dies in office due to health or the tamper tantrum nuclear armageddon he started. By 2020 there is hope he will be voted out not because he is "crazy" but because of the looming health care and maybe general economic collapse.

Yes because all us liberals wanted Hillary :roll: and a lot who did vote for her were more convinced she was the less sh*tty choice compared to trump.

And no sh*t that is how it works, I certainly don't think Pence will be much better...he may even be worse.

I think he will be impeached, but it won't be anytime soon. Democrats might try to wait until they think they have the votes to get him out, which could happen in about 4 years. But by then I am guessing that he will lose his reelection anyways. I am saying it is more likely that they will impeach him before that even though they can't convict him, just as a political statement and for they chance to publicly shame him.

Very possibly, if the Republicans keep both houses, Trump will never be impeached. That said, if Muller can provide a good case for impeachment, the voters will remember those Republicans who had kept a traitor, conman, and thief in office. In the long run, this very well may be a gift to Democrats.
