Sessions' use of the flooding in Houston as an example of why the Obama ban should be lifted makes zero sense. What does militarizing the police have to do with rescuing desperate people from drowning?

Isn't there a lot of looting that takes place in situations like Houston has?

But yeah Darth Trump totally. He's probably playing up things like the hurricane and N Korea the way Palpatine played up the separatist movement.

Sorry but in disaster areas societal rules don't apply because there's no authority to enforce them. The only rule of a disaster is: survive. If that means scavenging for food is called 'looting' then so be it, it's about survival not pleasing the person half a country away judging from a keyboard. Sure there's some luxury goods lifted in any disaster, but truth be told the people doing it aren't long for this Earth if they have their priorities that f'ed up. Also, it's a flood--most merchandise still in the stores is now near worthless due to water damage.

The idea having of an armed police force there is to enforce rules. And you know perfectly well that there's a difference between people scavenging to survive and thieves looting to obtain loot.
