The USA might just stand a chance of getting things back on track yet.. if these people are in office and more decisions are based on science vs profits, the entire planet will benefit, not just America.

We need more of everything.

What do you mean there are no solutions? Uh, what if humans reverse the damage they're doing daily and focused on environmental remediation, instead? We caused the problem, we can, at the very least, slow it down considerably.

Perhaps it does add 2 million citizens per year. The global population of humans has continued to rise, too. We don't need to continue increasing the human population if it's destroying the planet we depend on for survival.

False. You don't NEED more of everything. You WANT more of everything. North Americans consume more energy per capita than any other people on the planet. We don't HAVE TO. We've just become accustomed to it. People can in fact change and be less damaging to the earth in our daily lives.

We need more homes, more cars, more electronics, more heat for an increasing population.

Why are all the predictions about global warming negative? How do we know that it will bring drought and flooding? There is no proof of what will happen.
Increased water evaporation should result in increased rainfall with different weather patterns. According to geologists some of the larger deserts of the world were once grassy plains. How do we know global warming wont simply make the deserts green again? Global warming might create more arable land and provide potable water to the impoverished. No one can prove anything about climate change unless it actually happens.

Yeah, it kinda seems logical for global climate change to decrease the size of deserts. Meanwhile, in reality, the deserts are growing as the earth's average temperature rises.

If a theory sounds logical, but doesn't match up with what is actually happening in the real world, there must be some other factors that you aren't considering. We cannot twist the facts so that they all conform to our theories. That's not how science works. Science, instead, pays attention to the facts and only notices a pattern when a pattern is actually there.

They would lose their corporate funding if they did that.

The problem with the current crop of politicians is corporate funding. Hopefully they will be more independent if they get elected.
