In my opinion it would have been better if all of those did not fail.

That said I don't really understand what you mean or what the context of the Obama image is supposed to be.

I've been doing some reading and found that I can buy a long gun in a neighboring state without a foid, but since I need a foid to possess a gun, it becomes illegal as soon as I cross the border. So it is ridiculously easy to be a street arms dealer here. In one of the strictest gun control states I can be a gun dealer far easier than a drug dealer, the only work I have to do is make the drive and find someone to sell to, and once they buy it someone here has gotten around the gun law with no effort whatsoever. So yeah gun control doesn't work at all.

^ sounds more like a loophole and decentralization problem.

That's called a straw purchase and a felony, the ATF is very strict on it and has undercover buyers around the nation. More so in states like yours, in my state they try to bust for illegal unregistered NFA items or selling to someone out of state (private face to face has to be in state residence). So while you could do that, you would be committing multiple state and federal felonies; you would also get busted real quick either through a undercover buyer or once the gun is used in a crime... I imagine it would be easier to be a drug dealer, more specifically for pot or prescription pills if one had a complete disregard for the law.

Implies that carry licence holders bear some responsibility...

Are those people elected officials or appointed for life?

I'm guessing the latter since they don't seem to be concerned about being voted out at first opportunity.
