That was an episode of "The Black Mirror" tv show

The drone bees were hacked, and sent to fly inside people's heads.

Tell me that this is a dystopian sci fi novel. PLEASE!

A) That Walmart is becoming Big Brother, and taking over everything including agriculture, and (B) that robots will replace real bees.

Clever premise. Wish I had thought of it!

Its just a LITTLE early for April Fools. So... this has to be the result some kind of wires being crossed- a teaser for the next Hollywood blockbuster surfacing by mistake as real news. Lol!

The bee population has been dropping and pollenation has already been commercialized, but Walmart ownership of drone bees is creepy.

It does lend Black Mirror a more omnious tone than it had already. 8O

When I read the title, I was thinking tiny surveillance drones (pun slightly intended) looking for shoplifters and such.

They could be used for that, then they swarm the shoplifter and sting them with sedatives.
I’ve never seen Black Mirror, need to put that on my watch list.
I bet the military is interested in them. They could use them as robot killer bees .

Back in the days of old the old fashioned real bees were often used as weapons of war by armies laying siege to castles. Simply place a beehive on to a catapult and throw it over the defenders' walls, and then listen to em all scream in agony!

Today you can imagine the US Army sending a swarm of robot bees into the caves of Tora Bora to sting terrorists.

Walmart could create them to go after shoplifters.

Bee-replacing robots for our brave new bee-free world.

This will get expensive when they're caught in spider webs or birds attack them.

If we use robot bees, then we can stop stealing honey from real bees!

"You have a plan?"
"Yes! Plan bee!" :D

Of course—there won’t be any real bees left, so we won’t be stealing any of their nonexistent honey.

Spiders and birds won't get much nourishment from robots made of plastic and metal, though. In fact, we could use the robots to poison them, speeding up the advent of our braver newer spider- and bird-free world :D
