When Trump says something stupid on Twitter we hear no end to it from SJW's on this site, yet when Trump hires a war mongering neocon and basically starts turning the administration into G.W Bush's, nothing is said. Well done though for achieving this by dancing to the war monger's tune by repeating the lies about Russia and forcing Trump into this position to keep the neocons happy. Congratulations.

You are absolutely correct John.

Modern politics has become dumbed down. Style over substance.

The whole thing that Trump will start a temper tantrum nuclear war has receded from the headlines and conversations because it has not happened. I have been one of those saying this and yet I am still here typing so obviously it has not happened and my fears are increasingly looking like the demented paranoia that I hope it is. Not only was Bolton hired but also Mike Pompeo. The "civilized", "mature" establishment advisors are being replaced by "hawks" Trump likes from watching Fox News. This means that while delayed that Trump is "draining the swamp" at least as far as foreign policy and is concerned. It also is a cost of Trump constantly being rewarded for his behavior enough times and predictions of his political doom being proving false enough times that his outsized ego is even getting more inflated.

The focus on gun control and mass shootings and his consensual affairs is taking away attention from the absolutely chaotic human resources situation in his administration and the Muller investigation.

Maybe because America gearing up for war is just America being America and not all that newsworthy?

Don't blame it on "America being America". Americans are human beings. They aren't fundamentally evil. There are systemic reasons for the American war machine.

Whenever Americans gear up for war, we have to examine the people involved and their potential financial motives in order to further understand the situation.

When Americans gear up for war, it is always news worthy. Don't fall into the defeatist "It's just another war." mentality. We need to calmly treat this like a science.

If we want to end the American war machine (and we do because it does not benefit the average American at all) then we need to be mature and analytical about this.

May as well try to stop the Sun from rising.

IMO, the only thing that's going to end the American war machine is if America is defeated in a war, like defeated defeated big time on home soil and no longer has the military might it does to impose upon the world. Taxpayers complaining that they don't want to spend $700B+/year on war will only result in another 9/11 scale false flag to get everyone to fall in line and fund the war machine again. IMO.

Trump was elected on an anti-intervention stance and he has stuck to that. He also cut off funding for terrorists in Syria. This is the real reason the establishment has been against him, nothing to do with sexism or Russia.

John doesn't like Bolton because Bolton is pro-Israel and John Powell hates Jews. Look at his posting history. Anti-semitism seems to be a special interest of his.

Whhaaaaaa?

Trump blah blah blah'd about going to war and winning wars and beating terrorists and Muslims etc etc.. hardly an anti-intervention stance.

Maybe because of the process of making the Trump administration "normal" is underway despite everybody swearing they would never let that happen.

I don't like Zionist war mongering mass murderers. What's wrong with that?

The US was already in Syria and Iraq. He talked about "bombing the sh*t out of ISIS" in those two countries, and was asking why the US was against Putin and Assad when they were fighting ISIS. He said about not invading any more countries.

It's a very strange day in America when what passes for normal is the POTUS hiring his favourite news-entertainment show hosts into positions of power in the White House..

Yes, I read at least one article about Bolten and I realize he's worked for previous administrations, but it appears that Trump has done his interviewing by watching Fox News.

That's what they said about the American Revolution.

That's what they said about slavery.

That's what they said about letting women vote.

Restoring populist democracy is just the next step in a long chain of information-fueled social progress.

This social progress is fueled by new information ... and we are currently at the beginning of the information age.

Mark my words, this is going to be one of the most important centuries in world history. In 2100, the world will be practically unrecognizable. Rapid technological growth is always followed by radical social change. That's a historical fact which always holds true in any epoch.

This will never happen because the American military is too powerful.

The American war machine can only be dismantled from within by the American people.

That's why we have to keep talking to Americans. This can be annoying at times, but they are the only ones capable of saving the world from their own upper class.

As long as smart Americans like Noam Comsky and Bernie Sanders exist, there is still hope.

9/11 wasn't a false flag or an inside job. It was revenge.

The conservatives will often try to simplify Osama Bin Laden's motivations. In reality, religion was certainly a factor motivating Bin Laden, but he was also motivated by a dislike of the US military and a dislike of economic globalisation.

That's why the hijackers targeted the World Trade Center and the Pentagon. They were targeting a symbol of economic globalisation and the US military headquarters. They didn't just pick a few buildings at random.

Imagine if 9/11 had been an inside job. Bush would have targeted a school or a children's hospital. That would have caused far more outrage.
