Maxine Waters urged progressives to “Let's make sure we show up wherever we have to show up. And if you see anybody from that Cabinet in a restaurant, in a department store, at a gasoline station, you get out and you create a crowd. And you push back on them. And you tell them they're not welcome anymore, anywhere. We've got to get the children connected to their parents."

While many of the mainstream media and politicial criticized her she probably represents the feelings of a good portion of the Progressive and Democratic base who feel like the Obama era “when they go low we go high” attitude is a quaint enabling of a existential fascist threat.

Maxine’s remarks resulted in a lot of conservative virtue signaling about the need for civility which has been immediatly undercut by thier own side

Trump replied “Be careful what you wish for Max!”. Which coming from the President is a credible threat. Reminicest of Pizzagate there are conspiracy theories about a pedo ring at the Red Hen.

The parents broke immigration laws and are going to federal prison.

So, how does she propose "not breaking up the family"?

I don't like kids being separated from parents. But in what country do kids stay with parents who have been arrested? Kids in the US have always been separated from their parents after an arrest.

These acts of uncivility could very well come back to bite the Democrats in the biscuits.
This is why Schumer and Pelosi are against it, because it could cost them in the 2018 elections.
I however welcome this as I feel these acts by a few extremists will turn off people and effect a shift of politics to the center.

I see the opposite happening. It is driving non extremist conservatives and progressives to extremism. The attitude is becoming that bad stuff sucks but it works while the nice stuff gets you at best marginalized if not harassed for being enablers or "in name only". Tit for tat is very enticing.

It's ridiculous that they were refused service at that restaurant.

It's more like something that happened in the South to black people in the pre-Civil Rights days.

I don't believe this sets a good precedent at all.

When it comes to racism and the racists who practice it, turnabout is fair play.

My view is that ugliness begins when a country elects a leader knowing that he or she lacks the basic character qualities of good faith and good will. From there the ugliness grows exponentially, faster when the leader is a person of great ill will and longstanding bad faith.

There is an old maxim that "you get what you pay for", which contains a broad truth. In a similar vein, you get what you vote for.

It will get worse.

It seems like what that really boils down to is, anyone who's not an anti-trump democrat liberal or similar, is branded a "racist" by default. So any mistreatment they receive is justified. If they want to avoid this, they need to change their political views.

Maxine's getting her wish.

Man arrested for throwing chicken dung at restaurant that kicked out Huckabee Sanders

Quote:
One man was arrested at a protest outside The Red Hen restaurant in Lexington, Va., on Tuesday after the restaurant gained national attention for kicking out White House press secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders.

ABC 13 WSET reports that a man was arrested by police Tuesday afternoon for throwing what appeared to be a large quantity of chicken dung at the building, which was surrounded by pro-Trump protesters as well as supporters of Virginia Senate candidate Corey Stewart (R).

Police officials told the news outlet that the man, who has not yet been identified publicly, yelled President Trumps signature campaign slogan "Make America Great Again!" while committing the vandalism.

Florida Man Arrested, Accused of Threatening to Kill Children of GOP Rep Over Immigration Policies

A man from Stuart, Florida is in jail after being accused of threatening to harm the children of Republican Rep. Brian Mast (Fla.).

Mast, who represents the state's 18th Congressional District has three young children, all under the age of 8. The arrested man, Laurence Wayne Key, is facing federal charges for the offense of "communication of a threat to kidnap or injure a person." He threatened Mast’s children in response to the Trump administration's immigration policies, according to NBC affiliate WPTV.

A criminal complaint alleges Key called Mast’s Washington, D.C. office and told an intern he would "find the Congressman’s kids and kill them." He continued, "If you’re going to separate kids at the border, I’m going to kill his kids. Don’t try to find me because you won’t."

The intern reported the phone call to a supervisor, and the FBI arrested Key soon after the alleged call to Mast’s office. Key told the FBI he did not threaten to kill Mast’s kids, but said the congressman should be separated from his kids if he supports President Donald Trump’s immigration policies. The criminal complaint notes he admitted "to saying something about Congressman Mast never seeing his kids again."

The intern who answered the call told the FBI he is "150% certain" that Key used the word ‘kill’ with reference to the kids.

Key is politically active, frequently volunteering for local Democratic Party activities and Planned Parenthood.

How does this differ from Trump urging his followers to beat up on members of the media?

It was Joseph de Maistre who wrote in 1811: "Every nation gets the government it deserves."

What the feck did we do to deserve this?
