I'm intrinsically sceptical of any new taxes. I don't believe that new taxes are good for anyone - I believe greater taxation is bad for Britain.
I might want to make an exception with this though. These things are an unsightly mess, they damage the environment, they are a bad thing. If we can discourage their use I'm happy with this. Other containers may be found. I'm thinking this will principally affect Chinese takeaways.
