I had heat stroke, luckily at the time a navy corpsman happened on by and saved me.

There is something on this story that doesn't seem to make sense. "On July 11, Elijah and his caregiver took a walk on a nature trail near Clinton Lake in Lawrence. But just roughly 15 minutes after being outside — when the heat index reached nearly 110 degrees". There is a component missing from this story.

I have experience both hypothermia and hyperthermia. In hyperthermia the body automatically begins to shut down. It closes off your sweat glands. Your mouth becomes completely dry. Your cheeks feel like they are glowing hot. Your body conserves every ounce of water. In my case I was out hiking in the middle of a hot desert in Mexico for many hours. This is not minutes but hours.

Some of the causes of hyperthermia are:
* Heatstroke
* Medication reaction (”malignant hyperthermia”)
* Drug overdose (stimulants – cocaine, amphetamines, PCP, Ecstasy/MDMA/Molly, etc.)
* Thyroid storm

Why were they out in the extreme heat in the first place? Why have neither the mom nor the caretaker been
questioned? Why is the mom mainly giving advice to avoid heatstroke instead of being hysterical with grief that her son is DEAD?
