I would care more if black rappers didn't use the word themselves. Double standards!

There are words black people can use that other races can't.

There are words that we LGBTQ people can use that straight people can't.

It's as simple as that.

Words have context.

I don't have any sympathy at all for other races or straight people getting called out, and despised, for using loaded words that they should never go even near.

If that's true, then Trump truly is unhinged!
Side note - Trump didn't even write the damn thing; he had a ghostwriter do it for him.

I never needed Omarosa to give us that information for me to figure that his spewing racism was something he regularly did.

Largely I agree. But like you said, context matters. We're living in a time where people are demonized for using a word regardless of the context. That's where political correctness has gone off the deep end.


Back in the early 70's, John Lennon released a song entitled, 'Woman is the N****r of the World.' He was actually allowed to perform this song on The Dick Cavett Show, after a brief discussion of what the song was about, which was a sympathetic gesture towards the woman's movement. Most understood the context. Lennon pointed out that it was mostly white males who raised the biggest stink about the use of the N-word. His Black friends got it.


No way would Lennon ever have been allowed to perform that song on live TV if the current political climate of today existed then.

I want to make it clear that my above sentiments are in no way defending Trump's use of the N-word -- I didn't even read the article, to be honest. It was just a thought that popped into my head regarding your post.

I'll agree with fifasy and disagree with you on that.

Take a word originated to be derogatory, demeaning and racist. The group the word was directed toward then takes it and uses it to refer to members of their group. I don't think it's actually constructive nor do I think by doing so it's minimized racism.

Similar in a sense if two people who know each other refer to each other in regular conversation as idiots. They have every right to, but I don't think it's constructive.

Yes, tell black people how to judge derogatory terms. I mean, how dare they claim ownership of words meant to demean them
