Boston Globe gets bomb threat after editorial blasts Trump's media attacks

Many on Twitter expressed concern that Trump's tweet could have inspired the bomb threat. "Your inability to be civil has now incited a bomb threat to the Boston Globe," tweeted attorney Andrew Turner.

After Donald Trump tweeted an attack at the Boston Globe a bomb threat was made to their office.

Our president is a bigger threat to the safety of private citizens than the "fake news" ever was.

This could be connected to the notion of how he constantly identifies the"Press" as the enemy of the state.
This is close to something you'd see in a country where a tyrant is in charge of the nation whom supresses any disent or differentiation of opinion etc.

I really don't know how to express this, so it's not going to come out well, but I have to try. (Disclaimer: about this I am royally p!$$ed and it is going to show.)

Trump should never have been elected. Many of the things that are being uncovered by the Mueller investigation, things that compromise him, money laundering, incestuous attitude towards one daughter, etc., have been going on for decades. Decades. And made it into the news, in their time!

Where were the investigative journalists when this clown was campaigning? Where were the responsible newspapers? They were covering the campaign as if it was some kind of video game, is where they were. "Let's see if the loudmouth uncouth guy can give Miss Smartypants a whuppin' at the polls, she thinks she's such hot stuff, hee-yuk hee-yuk."

Well, they got the loudmouth uncouth guy, and his instigating has already emboldened one nut to murder five people at the Capital Gazette (after which, some unspeakable idiot wrote an op-ed about how the clown "might" get people killed if he kept Tweeting recklessly. What were the Gazette journalists? Humanoid aliens? Unspeakable idiot.)

It's the same with the GOP-allied pundits. Gerson, Rubin, Steve Schmidt, George Will, and so on. The time to stand against this was BEFORE IT HAPPENED. The time to take it seriously was BEFORE IT HAPPENED.

Now, none of this does any good in the circumstances, but sweet Fanny Adams, the stupid. It burns.

(Edit in: I have just remembered that, if I'm right in my count, only one major paper endorsed Orange Julius. However, that's a far cry from the kind of saturation coverage of scandal and corruption that could well have had an impact if it had merely been tried.)

I concur with most of what you wrote, but George Will opposed and condemned Trump well before the election, becoming himself a target of Trump's personal and public hate (in April, 2016, Trump labeled Will a "major loser" after Will wrote an editorial denouncing Trump). Will even went so far as to publicly quit his beloved Republican Party over its then-impending nomination of Trump.

The press was talking about it before the election but voters voted him in anyway because
1. Chose not to believe them because it was "fake news"
2. Loved the fact that he was trolling the establishment
3. Loved the fact that he was a bigot or at least openly appealing to them.
4. Knew he was a big risk but was so despairing about the state of the country they decided to take the risk
5. Related to number 4 thought that by some magic once he became President he would calm down.
