Here is the link to the article:

https://www.thelocal.se/20181005/a-girl-found-a-sword-in-a-swedish-lake-and-people-are-calling-her-the-queen-of-sweden

It's always so interesting and fun to read about the discovery of ancient artifacts and weaponry. It makes you think about so much.

Yes. When you hear "lake", and "sword" in the same sentence you can't not think about "the lady of the lake" in King Arthur.

The sword is from roughly 500 AD they say. So it actually is from pretty close to Arthurian times (circa 650 AD).

 and you just know they would naturally try to take advantage if the people were looking to sell.. let me get "my guy"

"wellllll, ya know...the market right now for ancient swords is just not there...Annnd I'm gonna be taking a considerable risk keeping this in the shop. But at the same time... I reeeally want this thing!"

also reminded me of this classic scene of the Atlantean Sword from Conan the Barbarian:

Somebody said that he was actually breaking off the fossilized leather sheath, rather than rust.

That would make sense. :chin: That was so old and it looks like an awesome sword.
