Bullies holding gun at teen son’s head
I believe the term bullying is understated. In the adult world the terms used are psychological assault, physical assault and torture and they are criminal offenses. The term bullying is a term that is designed to protect the guilty.
A Missouri mother was furious after a viral video showed a teenager holding a gun at her 13-year-old son’s head.
The video, which circulated on social media, showed the 13-year-old boy on his knees and being yelled at by a few boys demanding him to kiss their feet. A boy was seen pulling out a gun and pointing it at the boy’s head. The gun was pulled away and the boy was seen being punched.
Emily Bridges told FOX 4 KC she was upset when her son came home with bruises on Saturday. The mother told the station her son is on the autism spectrum and she didn't know what happened until her other son showed her a video of the incident.

A very unique plan. As Dr. Paul Thompson wrote, "This is the very best paper on the virus I have ever seen."
Yes, bullying is used for just about everything, but it would be very interesting if we used the adult world terms instead. Harassment for your stereotypical bullying and things like assault and GBH and sexual harassment / assault when this stuff happens. I don't think I've ever seen it said that bullying is a term that is designed to protect the guilty, but it is when I think about it, though I don't know if it's by design. I was being "bullied" when I was being beaten up on a daily basis and it was me who was moved out of that school for my own safety and the bully went unpunished.
This is a great point. I agree with you. We've all heard those people in our lives who would say things like: "Kids will be kids.", "Every kid is bullied by other kids sometimes. It helps them develop coping skills for later in life" and any other bit of rot.
Exactly right. Would we ever have heard anyone say: "Assault and battery are just things kids do. It's natural and normal. If your kid has a problem being assaulted by other kids, tell him to toughen up and quit being such a baby!"

Yes. And I saw girls being sexually harassed all the time too. Groping was quite a regular thing and done pretty much with impunity. And this is just me in just one of many classrooms or in just one place at one time.
