You also have to be in favour of change, which requires you to acknowledge the present state of things has room for improvement.

In other words, what you're really asking is, "Does seeing gays and lesbians as equal make you a 'liberal'?"

Yes, I believe they're equal. They have the same basic human rights as everyone else. What they're wanting, however, is special rights, and that's where, at least for me, the problem comes in.

the comfortable amuuuricans see nothing beyond their own situation other than as a threat to their privilege, they see the clamor for change upwelling from the uncomfortable masses as a clear and present danger to their own comfort, and will do anything to keep them at bay if not eliminate them branch, trunk and root. but they are so clueless, they don't know that without the uncomfortable masses supporting them, they would not be the privileged comfortable ones they are. this is the state of amuuurican conservatism in a nutshell.

Seems if you're a liberal, you're supposed to view conservatives as racist fascist capitalist scumbags - so I'd say the answer is no.

I've been called a liberal for having these views

My belief is you can have liberal views without being a liberal. A lot of my views are conservative or considered as such, but I'm in favor of socialized medicine, which is a liberal view. Personally I am me. I don't want to belong to any club. People who disagree with you will put you in a club though. A long with handing out other labels. Just the way it goes I suppose.

What ultimately counts are actions, not labels. I don't believe people should be labelled or categorized, although there are some who do indeed warrant labels.
