Child with autism locked out of school

Quote:
The principal of Springbrook Elementary, Ashli Short, has now been placed on paid administrative leave pending an ongoing investigation, according to the Kent School District.

Surveillance cameras from the school captured the fifth-grader wandering outside the school for 15 minutes.

It appears staff members are refusing to let him in. One teacher even escorts him back outside when he tries to walk in with other students after recess.

After a few minutes, he’s seen walking up to a classroom. The teacher inside goes to the window and closes the blinds in front of him.

This incident occurred in Kent, Washington which is located in the Seattle-Tacoma metropolitan area.

I hate to say it, but the only remedy in the U.S. is to sue the pants off that school district. Merely taking the child out of the school, or merely firing the principle, just kicks the can down the road. School boards DO take notice of expensive damages verdicts.

The principal said she thought her life was in imminent danger. If this was my daughter she did this to, you damn bet her life would be in danger!! !

If he was my son and I lived in that area, I'd sue the school district in an instant.
