Australia's prime minister on Tuesday expressed concern over an Al Jazeera report that an influential minor political party had asked the US gun lobby for donations to help undermine Australian gun laws.

A three-year Al Jazeera investigation showed One Nation party officials Steve Dickson and James Ashby flew to the United States for meetings with the National Rifle Association and other pro-gun interests in September last year weeks before the Australian Parliament banned foreign political donations. It is unclear whether they secured any money.

In a secret recording by Al Jazeera The NRA members could be heard joking about the victims of the recent NZ massacre involving a white supremacist.

The role of One Nation in promoting right-wing nationalism in Australia has come under the spotlight in recent days following the killing of 50 Muslims in New Zealand, allegedly by an Australian white supremacist.

New Zealand has responded by banning a range of semi-automatic weapons and foreshadowing a government-funded buyback of newly outlawed guns. The country's response is similar to how Australia strengthened its gun laws following the murders of 35 people by a lone gunman in 1996 in Tasmania.

So doesn't support for terrorism constitute criminal activity? why isn't the NRA charged with aiding terror?

How to Sell a Massacre
NRA's strategies revealed;

How do you respond to a deadly mass shooting if you are a gun rights advocate?

First, "Say nothing." If media queries persist, go on the "offence, offence, offence". Smear gun-control groups. "Shame them" with statements such as - "How dare you stand on the graves of those children to put forward your political agenda?"

This was the advice the US's most powerful gun lobby gave Australia's One Nation party, according to an Al Jazeera investigation, when representatives of the Australian far-right group sought guidance from the National Rifle Association (NRA) on loosening the Pacific country's strict gun laws.

Tell the NRA to go influence Russian politics. Maybe Maria Buttina could make some introductions.

According to the NRA Australia is being used by the anti-gun lobby in the states to justify banning semi-automatic weapons and restricting gun licences.

Since the Gun buy back scheme following the Port Arthur massacre we have had no mass shootings. This looks bad for the NRA who are increasing "under fire" (so to speak) for defending access to high powered weapons to various kinds of nutjobs who will invariably use it on a hapless American public

Therefore their attempt to infiltrate Australian politics is both understandable and devious at the same time...
