Pete Buttigeig Democrat frontrunner

A new poll of Iowa voters released Saturday night suggests a disruption in the Democratic primary contest in the first voting state, with South Bend, Ind., Mayor Pete Buttigieg surging to the front of the crowded pack.
The survey showed Buttigieg with support from 25 percent of likely caucus goers, followed by essentially a three-way tie for second place between Sens. Elizabeth Warren (D-Mass.) and Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.) and former vice president Joe Biden, who all have about 15 percent support. None of the other candidates are in double digits.

The last democrat candidate who performed this well in the Iowa primaries was a "dark horse" who nobody knew by the name of Barak Obama. Being somebody nobody knew worked in Obama's favour.

Are we looking at the next president of the US??

Buttigieg improbably seems to have a real chance. The question is can he make real inroads with African-American voters. If not his legacy might be to torpedo Warren's campaign which depends on a strong start in Iowa and New Hampshire.

By the way, Biden is still the polling frontrunner on a national scale. Most of the other candidates are counting on a momentum campaign, because Biden is poised to clean up in South Carolina and Super Tuesday.

There's no huh about it. I have nothing against Biden. But after watching some videos of him it seems pretty obvious to me. And no not videos put together by Fox or Brietbart or whoever. Just ordinary broadcasts.

Have yet to see any such thing, beyond ordinary, occasional verbal missteps.

Indeed, what has Pete accomplished as mayor of South Bend? He complains of "systemic racism" in the South Bend Police Dept but who has been the mayor for the past seven years?

Other small cities in the region that have major universities - Ann Arbor, West Lafayette, Champaign-Urbana, Bloomington - are booming. Yet South Bend, with Notre Dame, St. Mary's College and an Indiana University Medical School - has had a stagnant economy for over half a century.

Mayor Pete's grand total of seven months active duty behind a desk is tops among all the democratic contenders. But to the democrats, that's a seasoned combat veteran.

While the poll is newsworthy one poll does not make one the frontrunner in the Iowa primary never mind for the nomination.

Yes but the Iowa primaries are what launched the political career of Barak Obama who was also unkown
