I wish that she could’ve been helped.
I wish she had tried to get help.
That said, if suicide was always her goal, I am relieved that she did not kill or wound anyone else before ending her own life.I feel sorry for her parents; they seem to be devastated by this tragedy.

Tragic. Tomorrow Mark's the 20th anniversary. I remember it was the day of my dad's funeral. My sister, a forensic pathologist in Denver, got a call from her partner about the shooting, and was very upset, understandably. She thought she might have to head back early to deal with the autopsies, until she realized Columbine was outside of Denver county.

A few years ago here in VA, we had a serial killer and serial rapist named Jesse Matthew. For many years now, we have had girls, women, and a couple trans women disappear. All were 5’6” and 120 lbs, mostly either white or black. I think only one was middle eastern. Age does not see, to matter, nor does social class. Some are later found dead but others are never found.

Mathew was DNA proven to have raped one of these girls (who lived!), was connected through his college records to several more rapes, and then was DNA convicted (proved, really) to have killed a couple more girls. He went on the run and was finally caught on a Texas beach. This specific beach was a hideout of another serial killer who was caught long ago-Dean Corll. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dean_Corll

I have not read up on this girl yet. I do not think an interest in a tragedy is cause for alarm in and of itself. It’s not normal these days, like it was in the 1990s, for sure. It’s hard to say what she was going for either way. My thoughts are that things would have gone much worse if she had found a boyfriend who was also into this stuff and wanted to take some kind of action.

I believe you probably are correct; it does appear that many angry individuals remain seething, fantasizing, venting on the internet, many keeping really scary journals, unless/until connecting with a similar individual.

I made the mistake..BAD mistake... of Googling ‘Columbine’ yesterday; Wikipedia alone has 1/2 hour worth of information. I was appalled at how much MORE they were attempting to do.

They had hand made and planted 99 bombs, using 20-gallon propane tanks!

Their goal was to completely destroy the cafeteria, in which were 480 kids, during the 11:30 A.M. lunch.

The pillars supporting the ceiling were to collapse, causing the library upstairs (occupied) to fall into the wreckage below, killing any survivors.

I am still stunned by how much more than what they did they were trying to do.
