Quote:
The Indian army says it has discovered footprints in the Himalayas that appear to belong to a yeti, known in the United States as bigfoot or the abominable snowman.

Measuring 32 inches by 15 inches, the footprints were found near Mount Makalu base camp April 9, military officials posted on Twitter late Monday.

There is a new movie called "Missing Link" at the theaters. I wonder if this is part of publicity campaign for the movie? Just a thought!

If it's the prints going right to left across the picture in the link, then it looks like the poor thing only has one leg.
 Hey, that might make it way easier to catch, though!

I thought they pretty well proved that the Yeti was a polar bear/brown bear hybrid.

like... when nasa declares seeing the "hand of god", somewhere in space ?

or the "shepherds-union" seeing wolves everywhere,
(in order to get in office you must put wolves on the highest rank of threats so all the money gets labelled toward the wolf problem)((are sheep the admission committee now?)) 8O
another pay to play,
or rather avoid issues that would put a darker light on where the money's going

It's a little misleading though. None of the samples collected were puported to be the creature the Sherpa call the "Minjak". The Sherpa collect bones/hair and store in monasteries for luck. It doesn't mean anything.

A plausible theory is when the ancestors of the Tibetans and Sherpa arrived in the Himalayas around 10,000 yrs ago they came across hominids that match the description but hunted/annihilated them. It's no different Homo floriensis (hobbit) in Indonesia which became extinct them humans arrived.

Stories get passed down in folklore and these distant cousins become dwarves, elves and monsters of folklores.

There is the answer. Run a DNA analysis on the stored bone/hair samples.
