Sorry but real gentleman never make passes at ladies with glasses

Are you being ass backward on purpose? I don't get it.
The quote is "men don't make passes at girls who wear glasses".
It was coined by Dorothy Parker, and not by Emily Post.
When she made the quip back in the Forties or Fifties she was addressing women- who were desperate to attract husbands. Not men.
And you're misquoting it .
The word "real" wasn't there. She wasn't instructing men on how to be gentlemen. Etiguette had nothing to do with it. She was instructing other women how to be hawt. Her point was that wearing glasses made females look plain, so hey should get contacts, or whatever.
I don't particularly agree with the statement. Sarah Palin and Tina Fey both wear glasses, and both look hot to me. But I grew up in later era when, I suppose, lady's glasses look more stylish than they once did.
But the point is ...approaching ladies may, or may not, be "gentlemanly" in particular circumstances. But it doesn't matter if the lady is wearing glasses or not.
