In North Carolina yesterday, there was a bill that the Democratic governor of North Carolina had vetoed. The Republicans, who were the majority, told the Democrats that since it was the anniversary of 9/11, they weren't going to vote and were going to a vigil instead. So the Democrats went to the vigil. The Republicans snuck back to the legislature and held the vote without the Democrats present, and were able to achieve the 2/3 majority of those present vote to override the governor's veto.

It was a dirty trick played by Republicans. And it causes me to realize something, Republicans always project. The reason they always try to say crap like the Democrats do it too, or mention that people will always take advantage and cheat government social programs, it's because that's what the Republicans do.

Maybe because liberals are so honest and idealistic, conservatives can pull a fast one on them, then blame them for being so naive and dumb.

Maybe not, but at least they aren't conniving, self righteous back stabbers like the right seem to be showing themselves to be.

I see them being conniving and especially self righteous all the time.

When do liberals pull a stunt like this? And if conservatives are going to pull tricks like this, then the liberals have every right to come off as self righteous.

Yep. Supporting wars that blow up brown people while pretending to care about racism. Everything they accuse you of they are guilty of themselves to a higher degree. And you aren't on their side you're not just wrong you are a bad person.

As if the right hasn't blown up brown people. In fact, I'd think they have a worse record on that.

Already, the WP right is trying to derail this thread, and I admit I took the bait a minute ago.

Probably never since conservatives wouldn't fall for it. Although I have seen them pull stunts. Like russiagate.

Cunning is why liberals/non-conservatives Like Jeff Bezos, Bill Gates, Mark Zukerberg, Michael Bloomberg, George Soros, Warren Buffett etc etc are rich in the first place isn't it?

Note that none of the WP right has actually condemned what the GOP did here. They seem to be perfectly OK with it and look forward to the GOP playing more dirty tricks like this.

Republicans love to present themselves as the real Americans, and Democrats as the fake Americans. But what happened in North Carolina shows the Republicans are hypocrites engaged in psychological projection. The Republicans need to realize, they're the ones who are Un-American. 9/11 was a major American tragedy. But Republicans only believe in using it to start wars and to bludgeon all opposition to them. They don't actually care about the victims; otherwise, they would have gone to that vigil.

This is why they elected someone like Trump, and this is why they played that dirty trick in North Carolina.

Republican lawmakers have been rebelling against democracy all across the country:

Quote:
David Frum told us years ago that if conservatives can’t win at the ballot box, they won’t abandon conservatism — they will abandon democracy. Their calls for civility are actually demands for servility. Democrats must understand that, and fight back, before it is too late.
