Absolutely. There are well know migration paths birds take. Birders take advantage of strategic mountains (there is some mountain here in Maryland that's good for seeing hawks in migration season) to bird watch.
Whole nations are effected.
The storks of Europe fly a route that takes them around the east end of the Sahara to reach the savannahs of east Africa. This places them and other large birds through a bottleneck around the eat end of the Mediterranean. The Israelie airforce is always plagued by it planes colliding with migrating birds because so many storks and geese etc funnel into Israeli airspace as they journey south to Africa along the narrow corridor around the Sahara.
