Civil rights icon and champion for the poor and disenfranchised in congress, Elijah Cummings, has passed away at age 68. He'll be long remembered.

I concede I'm rather surprised that Trump could be so kind to a deceased political rival. Very different from his response to John McCain.

I noticed the flags in front of the courthouse are at half mast.

Trump called McCain a dunce, basically, for being captured and being made a prisoner of war.

That wasn't very nice.

He does this to all his political opponents. He makes them out to be worse than they actually are. He doesn't fight fair.

Maybe focus on all the positives TRUMP does.

That seems to be a two way street.

Yeah....they were opponents.....but Trump went over the top with this, as far as I'm concerned.

A true leader doesn't seek to screw others all the time. A true leader acknowledges the good aspects of a person, too.

We don't have enough of this "acknowledgement" in the political discourse these days.

I think it's best to weigh the positive with the negative. I don't see any practically in only focusing on one or the other.

No argument there. But again I see that going both ways.
