Sanders has heart stent procedure after chest discomfort

Quote:
Bernie Sanders experienced chest discomfort during a campaign event Tuesday evening and had two stents inserted to address a blockage in an artery, his campaign announced.

“Sen. Sanders is conversing and in good spirits. He will be resting up over the next few days," senior adviser Jeff Weaver said in a statement Wednesday. "We are canceling his events and appearances until further notice, and we will continue to provide appropriate updates.”

He probably feels much better now than he did in the last few weeks. I received two stents, and doubled my speed and time on the treadmill just six weeks later.

I think if this happened to the President there would be an outcry that he is medically unfit to remain in office.

He probably is anyway ... and I think both he and Bernie Sanders are mentally unfit to serve in office, but that's just my opinion.

If nothing else, having such a procedure will probably kill any chance Sanders might have had at a nomination. Can't elect a president who isn't officially in the peak of health (even if they look like a soggy cheeseburger).

Lots of people have these procedures and go on to live many years with a good quality of life. I'm no longer a fan of Sanders, but this shouldn't disqualify him from continuing his run for president.

Yeah hair should always be a major consideration. And it's a problem with Sanders too.

Biden should be unhappy. This will help Warren. How much or how long depends on recovery time, complications etc.

It's going to be Donald vs Hillary all over again.

Absolutely agree. And with a rational, fully informed voting base, it wouldn't.

No problem with him running for president ... getting elected, however ...

Nonsense. The Democrats still have one highly qualified, experienced, eligible candidate waiting in the wings — and he's full of the youthful vigor the party is famous for:

Confirmed heart attack, although it sounds mild.
