At an AOC town hall event ...

A woman suggested it's time to eat babies to hasten our fight against climate change.

Stopping fossil fuels is not fast enough.

The Green New Deal is not enough.

She suggested AOC change her slogan to , "Save the planet, eat the babies".

I'm not sure why this matters to you if you're not concerned with whether or not said babies have an inhabitable planet to live on.

That's a strawman argument and you should know it. People who don't support the green new deal do so for 3 reasons:

1) They don't believe climate change is real, or believe climate change is a hoax.

2) They believe climate change is real, but don't believe its effects will be catastrophic.

3) They believe climate change is real, and will have severe effects, but believe the Green New Deal will have an overall worse outcome than other approaches to the problem.

There may be a tiny fraction of the population that says "screw the next generation, I'll be dead anyways," but that is a tiny fraction.

I wonder how likely this theory will lead to a joint effort between organizations focused on the environment pairing with those focused on helping kids in Africa?
