Two Ukrainian born business partners,who showered republican campaign committees with nearly $500,000 and dined Donald Trump at the white house,were arrested on campaign finance charges.

Lev Parnes and Igor Fruman helped Rudy Giuliani meet a key Ukrainian prosecutor as the presidents personal lawyer sought to discredit Joe Biden.

Both men are among prospective wittnesses house democrats want to question in there impeachment inquiry.

Apparently, they liked the prestige of being associated with Giuliani and TRUMP.

Apparently, the publicity helped them in business dealings.

According to CNN the pair were trying to leave the country when they were arrested.

But this time he's actually facing impeachment, and all his dirty dealings are coming back to haunt him. Nixon was playing fast and dirty with the law, but it wasn't till later that it all caught up with him.

You spoke with the same level of assurance going back years regarding russiagate.

Nixon, Nixon, Nixon. There is no way to know the outcome if Nixon had faced the music instead of crying his eyes out getting on a helicopter and flying away.

However we do know what happened when Bill Clinton got impeached.

If Trump does get convicted of impeachment which he may now that he has alienated republicans over Syria,he would likely be pardoned by Pence if he were to be indicted.

I'm just saying it is unknown what the outcome of Nixon's impeachment would have been.
All one can do is speculate.
So there is no point in comparing Trump getting impeached to Nixon not getting impeached.

Nixon was extremely intelligent and thoughtful, but was plagued was extreme paranoia. Trump lacks that intelligence and self awareness (though he thinks he has that), and has a scattergun thought process, along with paranoia on top of that.

If Trump was impeached and convicted couldn't he be pardoned by Pence?
Nixon was pardoned by Ford a month after he resigned.
I'm sure he knew Ford could pardon him, so I don't see what he had to fear.
He said he was resigning for the good of the nation.
