I am not sure enough people would be willing to take up arms against each other, for there to be a full out civil war. I certainly would not participate.

It wouldnt be the people taking up arms, it would be the soldiers. The people would just get caught up in the crossfire.

Who would they be fighting each other? I just don't really see a scenario where the military would be divided into two enemy sides battling each other in the streets.

If anything seems more likely some disgruntled civilians with guns could try to create some kind of uprising or something and the military would have to potentially use force against those people or if there are different groups like that fighting each other the militaries job would like be to attempt to maintain some kind of order.

I am not saying I don't see the possibility of more violence...but I do not think it would play out like a civil war per say. Either way I'd do my best to stay out of it, if it gets too bad maybe I'd even see if any other countries will take U.S conflict refugees.

Maher may be correct, but he's still an put of touch member of the weathly elite who doesn't have to worry about the same things as Americans struggling to survive.

And, like so many on the left, he jumps on the whitewashing of George W. Bush bandwagon when he supports Ellen for cozing up to a war criminal. Of course the people who did rightfully take her to task for her actions wouldn't likely say s**t if she appeared in a photo-OP with Obama, who is every bit as guilty of war crimes as his predecessor.
