OK Boomer may become TV show after US network Fox Media applies to trademark meme

Fox Media applied to the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) to use the phrase for "entertainment services", specifically a reality competition, comedy or game show.

Founder of US-based trademark attorneys Gerben Law Firm, Josh Gerben, said the filing meant Fox had a "bona fide intent to use this name for a television show".

"This cannot just be filed on a whim," Mr Gerben said on Twitter.

"There was a sworn declaration submitted which says that if the applicant is filing based on an intent to use the trademark, that the applicant has a bona fide intention to use the mark in commerce."

The thing is: Only people who are 55 or older, or born in 1964 or earlier, are actually "Baby Boomers."

A 50-year-old person would be squarely in Generation X.

I was already 8 years old in 1969.

True! But, they consider boomer as more of an attitude or state of mind then the age of the person. Sort of like the Gurus I talk about in the other thread.

It's ironic----because Baby Boomers back in the day had an even "worse" attitude, according to the generation before them, than Millennials/Generation Z people according to the Baby Boomers.

Why should they know how good they have it? Why should they be grateful for what they do have especially if this gratitude must imply that another person lacks and must suffer for that lack? How is gratitude a virtue if another person must be poor and impoverished in order for one to have that gratitude?

Anyway,

[Millenial and Gen Z response] Back in your day ... employers didn't require things like access to a computer, the internet, email, and even access to a phone. Now, these are inherent requirements.
