Felony for teens sharing sexual images?

Alternatives pitched for teens who share sexual images to a felony conviction.
Supporters of the bill that would change the consequences teenagers face for sharing sexual images,describe penalties as draconian.
The judiciary committee heard testimony tuesday on a bill filed by Gov. Charlie Baker and Franklin rep. Jeffrey Roy propose to change how the law handles minors who engage in sexting.
Under the current law ,minors who share sexual photos can be charged with felony child pornography charges.This new bill would attempt to substitute felony convictions for education programs for young people on the dangers of sexting.
The diversion program would provide information about legal and other consequences of sharing sexual images.
