Newtown Connecticut highschool football team wins state championship 7 years to the day of the Sandyhook tragedy.

In a dramatic turn of events the Newtown Nighthawks scored a 36 yard touchdown during the final play of the game and finnished with a score of 13 to 7 over Darien.

Quarterback Jack Street found Riley Ward down the right sideline and threw a perfect pass for a touchdown,this was there first state championship since 1992.

Ben Pinto whose brother Jack was murdered that day is a member of the team and played in the title game.

Newtown football team wins state championship exactly 7 years after Sandy Hook shooting Ben Pinto, whose brother Jack was among those killed in the 2012 elementary school shooting, played linebacker for Newtown.
