I think the Young Turks had really good coverage of this story:

The video showed Trump snapping his fingers using Thanos's magic device, which results in the deaths of the House Democratic leadership. Cenk Uygur mentions how it's ironic that in the video of Trump as Thanos that Trump's campaign shared where he says "I am inevitable", Thanos is actually defeated in the very next scene. Cenk wonders if there is maybe a Freudian slip where the Trump campaign thinks it's going to lose. He also wonders about why the campaign compared Trump to Thanos, who is a fictional mass murderer, who literally murdered trillions of people (trillions).

Not only was Thanos beheaded by Thor, but his alternate self was dissolved in Stark's own 'snap'. This makes Thanos (and by extension, Trump) the "Butt Monkey" of defeat!
