Trgger Warning: This might be the most negative thing I have ever posted. I damn well hope it is Autistic catastrophizing, but this is how I sincerly think things are going to play out.

President Donald Trump said on Tuesday that there would be chaos across the country if he were impeached.

“I’m not concerned, no,” the president told Reuters reporters about his potential impeachment during an interview in the Oval Office. “I think that the people would revolt if that happened.”

IMHO that was the most dangerous anti democratic thing Trump has ever said. I know that is saying a lot. Under the guise of an opinion it is a call to arms that could become a self fulfilling prophechy.

I am more then ever convinced the man will not leave the oval office voluntarily. If it happens the video of him being physically dragged out by the “deep state” is going to be real ugly. IMHO it will be more likely from election loss or term limits then impeachment and conviction but the cause won’t matter.

That is if he(and us) is not vaporized by his own temper tantrum nulclear war becoming more likely with the noose tightining and the “adults in the room” being fired or quitting.

I don't expect to see that much more chaos taking place if he's impeached, then all the chaos that took place when he was elected.

And quite honestly this speculative discussion has been going on since Nov 10th 2016. As a matter of fact there was supposed to be a massive revolt if Trump lost.

The fact that he seems to take pride in the thought of that happening to his country is pretty disturbing.

What a f*****g narcissist!

You're correct that it's a very thinly veiled incitement to political violence, anti-democratic in the extreme, but no different than when, during the campaign, he suggested that "Second Amendment people" should assassinate Hillary Clinton...except that as a direct appeal to his Sturmabteilung encouraging insurrection to oppose the rule of law actually applying to him, this is (or should be) one more nail in his 'obstruction of justice' coffin.

Trump is a Fascist at heart, and proves it with virtually every tweet.

Not me. I love our president. I believe in him. I am thankful for him every day.

But I have a little boy.

I read an interesting post elsewhere on the Internet a week or two ago from a Bosnian war survivor. He was talking about how he survived with his family by making his house look super regular, traveling at night only, trading far away from home, hiding what he had. I believe in that. I don’t have an American flag outside my house. I am pretty sure that my husband and I make the most on our block, but we hide it. I carry. I prepare. And I have a surprising advantage over many people. I grew up in extreme poverty. We had a derecho (wind) storm here a few years ago that knocked out the power for a week or two. I was fine, because we often had no power when I was a kid. I had a lot of poor people tricks to stay comfortable. A lot of other people here descended into madness.

If the government suddenly did not go my way, it would not bother me at all. Wouldn’t be the first time. Such as with Bill Clinton when he stole my factory job, sent it to Mexico, devastated my small town, forcing my husband and I to move, which ruined my life for awhile frankly. But I got over it and found a way through. I’m good now. I could adapt again.

No revolt on his behalf would work if you ask me. Most republicans that I know that "Support" him, do so begrudgingly and would rather almost any other republican ever.

Though he does have that group of cult like followers as well, which could be a concern.

If Trump feels so bulletproof, why not step up, denounce Mueller, and pardon Cohen?

It might work.

Mueller doesn't seem capable of finding the Russian bogeyman.

I thought Trump said, "People who impeach me are revolting."

But I could be wrong.

Maybe he wants to let it string out longer. If Mueller can't pin collusion on him, then Mueller will end up "proving he's not guilty".

It wouldn't be the first time what Trump actually said has been misunderstood, misquoted or put in the wrong context. That's not a defense, just a fact.

I get the impression he has had a lifetime of dismissing (solving from his perspective) his problems by declaring they are not true, and that in the end, people forget, move onto the next thing, don't follow up. I don't think he has ever been held accountable for any of his actions. Now he has someone who is stubborn and is persevering and I don't think he knows how to handle that.

I do think he is playing with fire and doesn't care who or what goes up in flames.

Trump's not going to pardon Cohen. He's pissed at Cohen for ratting him out.

I thought Nancy Pelosi stated shortly before the mid-terms that the Dems will not pursue impeachment in they retook the House.

Nancy Pelosi is only one woman, and she is not in control.

It looks very likely she will become Speaker of the House, again. I'm sure you are aware how much power that position holds.

Oh, I'm aware, alright. But here in America, even our congress-people still have freedom of choice.
