Does impeachment make him ineligible for reelection, considering the charges against him?

Good question...

I admit that the following was C&Ped from Wikipedia.
Quote:
Article One of the United States Constitution gives the House of Representatives the sole power of impeachment and the Senate the sole power to try impeachments of officers of the U.S. federal government. (Various state constitutions include similar measures, allowing the state legislature to impeach the governor or other officials of the state government.) In the United States, impeachment is only the first of two stages, and conviction during the second stage requires "the concurrence of two thirds of the members present".[29] Impeachment does not necessarily result in removal from office; it is only a legal statement of charges, parallel to an indictment in criminal law. An official who is impeached faces a second legislative vote (whether by the same body or another), which determines conviction, or failure to convict, on the charges embodied by the impeachment. Most constitutions require a supermajority to convict. Although the subject of the charge is criminal action, it does not constitute a criminal trial; the only question under consideration is the removal of the individual from office, and the possibilities of a subsequent vote preventing the removed official from ever again holding political office in the jurisdiction where they were removed.

So if the article is correct, then a third step must be taken -- a vote must be made to prevent the official from running for re-election.

Tulsi Gabbard didn't vote.

She wanted a non-partisan inquiry.

Conceivably he could be acquitted, reelected and impeached again on the same charges. Dems would be either stupid or masochists to do that but in this bizarro world can we definitely rule it out?

Speaking of our bizarro world how about Pelosi just not sending the articles impeachment to Senate?
Pelosi: Not sending impeachment articles to Senate until she sees details of trial process

Quote:
House Speaker Nancy Pelosi on Thursday stood by her position that the House will not send the Senate the just-passed articles of impeachment against President Donald Trump until she sees “the process that is set forth in the Senate” -- how a trial would be structured.

When asked at her weekly news conference if there’s risk in Republicans saying she is playing games by holding the articles, Pelosi said, "We don't know the arena that we're in. Frankly, I don’t care what the Republicans say.”

"In any event, we are ready. When we see what they have, we'll know who, and how many [impeachment managers], we'll send over. And that's all I have to say on this now,” Pelosi said.

As Pelosi spoke, Trump tweeted, "Pelosi feels her phony impeachment HOAX is so pathetic she is afraid to present it to the Senate, which can set a date and put this whole SCAM into default if they refuse to show up! The Do Nothings are so bad for our Country!"

The Constitution's framers suspected that "we might might have rogue president," Pelosi said. "I don't think they suspected that we'd have a rogue president and a rogue leader in the Senate at the same time," Pelosi shot back.

McConnell later sought out reporters to say, "It's beyond me how the speaker and the Democratic leader in the Senate think withholding the articles of impeachment and not sending them over gives them leverage - is beyond me. Frankly, I'm not anxious to have the trial, if she thinks her case is so weak she doesn't want to send it over, throw me into that briar patch.”

House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy on Thursday accused Pelosi of "admitting defeat" by not committing to transmitting the impeachment articles to the Senate.

"She's so embarrassed by it, she won't send the papers over," he said. "She's admitting defeat by not sending it. By refusing to send impeachment over, she knows the outcome is not good."

Based on the polling I cited earlier and her reluctance to start the impeachment this particular Republican conspiracy theory may not be so far fetched.

Bizarro situation indeed.

That's what it should have been since it obviously wasn't going to be bipartisan.

Where did she expect to find enough non-partisan people to perform such an inquiry?

Her actions within the democrat party follow a pattern. As I suspect she continues to not close ranks with her fellow democrats because she has ulterior motives.

Evidence, please?

William Clinton was already in his second term when he was impeached, and Barack Obama was re-elected by both the Electoral College and the popular vote and never faced impeachment.  The only thing these two presidents have in common with Donald Trump is that they all used the same bathroom at the White House.

Just watch and you'll get all the evidence you desire.

She refuses to close ranks with corrupt corporate Dems? String her up!

Perhaps her ulterior motive is she actually cares about the people in this country.

And that's what will happen. He's already begun to use it at his rallies. "I was just impeached tonight...., I'm having a pretty good time, are you having a good time?" Etc...

He knows why it's happening, he's not taking it personally. The dems want it back to open borders, DACA (where a few illegals are more important than the rest of us useless, worn out fixtures), endless supply of poor voters, America down the shitter financially and ultimately a socialist country where a few politicians are rich and the rest of us are powerless and starving. He's the only thing standing between them and their dreams (that men like Soros bankroll).

This is going to keep happening for the next 5 years.
