Lebanon,PA True crime daily

A Pennsylvania couple has been arrested for alleged torture and murder of a 12 year old boy after the child was found dead in horrific condition, said the Lebanon county DA's office.

Police officers responded to a report of a deceased child and found 12 year old Maxwell Schollenberger at an residence on may 26th.

Maxwell Schollenberger was found deceased, naked and covered in fecal matter, there were claw marks on the sheets and moldy fecal matter.

The room had no furniture, windows all covered with shades and the room door was screwed shut.

Scott Scholleberger is the boys biological father and Kimberly Maurer is engaged to the father, other children living in the house were found healthy, unclear as to why Max was singled out for abuse.

Other children of the couple told detectives that a horrible stench emanated from the boys bedroom.

Autopsy listed; Starvation, malnutrition and blunt force trauma to the head, face and body as causes of death.

The couple has been charged with;Criminal homicide, conspiracy to commit homicide and endangering the welfare of a child.

Personally not sure why 1st degree murder was not charged, possibly without witnesses it's hard to prove intent.

If someone could only have stepped in to rescue this child before his murder.

Yea, there were other kids in the house,I know there children, but why didn't they run to a neighbor's house and ask for help, the kids said there was a horrible stench coming from the room.

The other children lived in absolute fear.
They would not have imagined talking about the reality of their lives.
I don’t know if I believe that they will ever see life as others do; like learning to trust people, no matter how much therapy they get.
And the ‘parents’ will be excused due to drug use, serve time (nothing like what the little boy experienced), and eventually be released.
To live free lives.

This doesn’t surprise me at all. Lebanon (pronounced Leb-nin) County is in Pennsylvania Dutch Country. You thought the Old Order Amish and Mennonites were peaceful people? THINK AGAIN! (No, The Discovery Channel’s Amish Mafia doesn’t even begin to touch the dark side of that population.

That’s what happens when close relatives marry each other and procreate, more so with the old order Amish than the Mennonites.

What surprises me that Autism Spectrum hasn’t shown up in that population!
